about

I'd continued to be curious about feeding audio from spoken word into Wingie 2, fascinated by how it reacts to non-musical sound sources.

Being a baseball fan, I decided to feed the live audio from a game into the resonator and record the result. To be clear, the baseball commentary cannot be heard, only Wingie's response to it. I also let the recorder run after I had unplugged the audio cable, which resulted in some low-level static making it's way into the resonator.

I used both results, adding effects and two field recordings to create Unseen Frequencies. The title is both a reference to the unheard broadcast and the ethereal, mysterious tones present in the track.
